ABOUT
Welcome to Brady’s Sushi and Hibachi restaurant, the newest Japanese restaurant in Richmond. Brady’s owners are not strangers to this area. Our family moved to Richmond from China in 1995 and opened China King in Carriage Gate shopping center (sold in December 2018). If you have been to China King for Chinese food, you may recall seeing a young boy taking orders behind the counter or my little sister napping in her rocker. I am that young boy, and now I have a little boy of my own; we named our new restaurant, Brady’s, after him.
After going to school at Model and the University of Kentucky, I moved to New York City and married my best friend, Wen. While living in New York, we took advantage of diverse cultures and cuisines and discovered that we were particularly drawn to Japanese and Hawaiian foods. That is why our new restaurant offers selections representing Japanese and Hawaiian cuisine.
Many viewers will know that sushi is a traditional Japanese dish consisting of rolls of seasoned rice garnished with vegetables, egg, and/or fish, including sushi-grade raw fish. The hibachi, a Japanese-style charcoal brazier, is popular in Japan for grilling meats and vegetables. For its Japanese cuisine, Brady’s offers a variety of sushi and selections from the hibachi grill. We are also offering Poke, pronounced “po-kay,” a Hawaiian dish which may be new to customers. It is traditionally made with cubed ahi tuna seasoned with soy sauce and sesame oil and garnished with scallions.
We invite you to come to Brady’s and enjoy sushi, selections from the hibachi grill, and our new Poke bowls. Dine-In or Take-Out, you are welcome! We are looking forward to seeing old friends and making new ones.
